SOPHIE BELLARD
As a French self-taught photographer graduated in political science and geopolitical studies, I came first to documentary photography in the late 2000s during peacekeeping and support missions to fragile states. Keen to explore religion in all its dimensions as well as emerging or disrupted societal issues, I have aimed to highlight overlooked people, subjects and places. Whether my footsteps take me to Haiti, Ethiopia, Guinea, the United Arab Emirates or Europe, I love to expose the unusual or the poetry emanating from hidden fragments of everyday life. After having collaborated with CIRIC/Bayard Presse, I joined in October 2021 the Photo Agency and collective Hans Lucas.
Currently based between Paris area and South-West of France (near Tarbes), I am available for photography assignments across France and abroad.
